EDINA is a centre for digital expertise and online service delivery at the University of Edinburgh. EDINA develops innovative educational technology delivered across the education sector from primary schools through to research level within Higher Education Institutions. EDINA's award winning Digimap for Schools service is in use within 3,000 primary and secondary schools across Great Britain. Digimap for Schools provides pupils and teachers with engaging, easy and fun access to a range of current and historical Ordnance Survey maps and aerial photography. Using this data, pupils enjoy learning about where they live and understanding their environment and its history.  Simple measurement tools enable pupils to measure distance and calculate area. Intuitive annotation tools enable pupils to add their own information to maps enabling them to present their interpretation of places and events, developing core information and data handling skills
